In order to tap high end subscribers, Anil Ambani headed RCom has entered in two year contract with Google. Every Google-endorsed Android smartphone that is sold in the country will now come bundled with a Reliance Communications mobile connection with Free 1 GB of 3G Data for the first six months. Though it is not a compulsion to use Reliance network and the consumers will have option to switch to any other network any time.
The Deal includes Android Phones of all the leading manufacturers likes Samsung, HTC, SONY and LG.As part of the agreement, RCom, the country’s second-largest telco by subscribers, will launch a 30-crore campaign for Google Android products starting Saturday and Google is also suppose to do the same on its on its online platforms.This will be Google’s fourth such deal globally. It has similar agreements with Verizon in the US,Telstra in Australia and one in Japan.
With this deal Reliance might be able to increase the average monthly billings of it’s customers which is Rs 100 per month because average monthly bills of customers using data-oriented phones like Google Android devices is estimated to be around 250-300.
